New, Upgraded Body Cameras For Richland County Sheriff's Office

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office has plans to upgrade their body cameras.

Captain Jim Sweat told RichlandSource.com, the cost of just over $283,000 to upgrade to new technology, as the old cameras are nearing end of life and will soon be phased out. The department will receive 50 new body cameras, which half is covered by a state grant. There will also be upgrades to the storage, processing and distribution capabilities.
