Finish For The Ages: Shelby Hook And Ladder 4th Down Play Caps Comeback Win

A game that was billed: "The game of the year" - sure lived up to the hype, as Shelby defeated Ontario in a thriller Friday, 37-31.

You can hear the entire WMAN broadcast with Aaron Hines and Erik Will here.

The Whippets, down 31-29, and facing 4th and 15 from the Ontario 39 yard line with just over a minute left in the game, executed a perfect "hook and ladder". QB Brayden Devito threw a quick pass to Casey Lantz, who caught the ball and quickly lateraled the ball to Ramsey. Issaiah shook loose from one defender and out ran everybody to the end zone with :57 seconds to play. Ontario drove the field in the final seconds, but Ramsey, again, came up big. Issaiah, on 4th and goal from the Shelby 9 yard line with :04 seconds to play, intercepted the ball in the end zone to end the game.

Ramsey on the night had 7 catches, 130 yards receiving and 2 TDs. Also, he had 2 INTs on defense in a GREAT high school football game!

Shelby (7-2, 5-1) and Ontario (8-1, 5-1) are now tied for 1st place in the MOAC!
