Walnut St. Railroad Crossing In Plymouth Could Close Due To Public Safety

In Plymouth, there is talk about closing the railroad crossing on Walnut Street due to public safety.

RichlandSource.com reports, Village Council will vote on the matter on September, 12th, which would close it to vehicles and pedestrian traffic. The reason comes after the Ohio Rail Development Commission evaluated the crossing last year and said, lights and railway bars need to be added. Plymouth mayor, Cassaundra Fryman, said, the curve of the railway and safety viewing distance led to the recommendation.

The money that was originally planned to add the lights and railway bars, now is needed to replace the bridge on West Broadway Street in town.
