NWS Confirms: Tornado Touched Down In Ashland County Thursday, Near Nankin

The National Weather Service says, a tornado did touch down in the northern part of Ashland County on Thursday night. The preliminary storm damage shows, it happened just before 8:50 pm near Nankin, which is about 4.5 miles northeast of the city of Ashland.

It was an EF-0 Twister and touched down between County Road 801 and State Route 58. Several trees were uprooted, one residence had roof damage and another lost a part of a barn roof.

The tornado had wind speeds of 85 miles per hour. It was on the ground for about 2 minutes and traveled 1.2 miles. The width of the tornado was about 300 yards wide.
