The Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield is receiving a statewide grant.

According to RichlandSource.com, just over $219,000 is on the way to the Ren, via an Ohio Arts Economic Relief Grant program. The grant dollars, which the Renaissance is one of 135 organizations in the state on the list to receive, will be used for operating expenses.

Chelsie Thompson, CEO of the Renaissance Theatre, said, they are still working to recover from the pandemic and the money is badly needed. Financially, the Ren is $300,000 to $400,000 short of where they need to be.
