On May 3, 2023, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office concluded a child pornography investigation into illegal possession of explicit images of juveniles. Deputies executed a search warrant at 6766 Brandt Rd. Galion, Ohio 44833.
Arrested was Matthew Smith, age 51, who resides at the address, Smith was the target of the investigation. Deputies seized multiple electronic devices from the residence.
Criminal charges are pending against Mr. Smith for Possession of Child Pornography. Mr. Smith is currently incarcerated at the Crawford County Justice Center reports will be forwarded to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of additional charges.
This case is still being investigated by the Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office.
