Lucas Football Field Damaged, One Person Arrested

A 21 year old man has been arrested on charges of vandalism, following an incident in the early morning hours of Saturday that caused extensive damage to the Lucas Football Field.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office said the school estimated the damage was around $20,000 dollars after ruts were made in the grass playing surface with a side by side utility vehicle. Lucas was not able to play a home game on Saturday night at the field vs Hillsdale, due to the property damage done to Bob Wine Field. The Cubs and Falcons were able to play their game at Clear Fork High School. Two individuals are believed to have entered from the Lucas Elementary School area on the east side of Lucas North Road. A 2nd person was riding on the utility vehicle at the time of the incident and officials are still looking to make contact with that person.
