Commissioners Approve $180,000 Richland County Courthouse Design Contract

The Richland County Commissioners have approved an $180,000 design contract for renovations at the courthouse, which will lead to the eventual construction of a 4th courtroom. 

According to RichlandSource.com, the agreement with a Mansfield firm, Maurer Architectural Design Studio to design the area known as”L2”, which is where the former jail cells were located. That space has been cleared out and will now hold offices for the Clerk of Courts.

Bids are expected to go out soon with construction to take less than 6 months to complete. The project will use money from the American Rescue Plan.
