Close To 500 Acres Of Mohican State Forest Damaged From June Storms

Close to 500 acres of land at the Mohican State Forest in Ashland County was damage from the severe storms in June that saw wide spread tornado damage in North Central Ohio.

RichlandSource.com reports, 480 acres, which is around 10% of the forest saw damage in mid- June.

Forest manager Chad Sanders said, hiking, biking and horse trails – all had to be closed from the storms, which impacted the entire park. Most of the trails should be back open this month. Over the next year or 2, work will continue to salvage downed trees.
