One week remains until Election Day, which Mansfield voters will see a quarter percent tax levy on the May 3rd ballot for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Superintendent Mark Abrams said, if passed, the plan is to build a new pool or aquatics center in town.  The levy over four years would raise just shy of $15 million or around $3.7 million per year.

Abrams said there will be no public pool open this year in Mansfield because of the issues at Liberty Park, which opened in 1938 and closed for good last year. It’s estimated it would take about 2 years to build the new facility at Liberty Park.
