State Approves Funding For Projects At Seltzer And Charles Mill Lake Parks

Board Approves NatureWorks funding for Richland County

COLUMBUS - The state controlling board has approved the release of funds to Richland County as part of the NatureWorks project, State Representative Marilyn John announced.

These projects were among 115 others that were awarded by the State Controlling Board on Monday and they amounted to $5.2 million in funding. Since its inception in 1993, the NatureWorks program has helped fun 2300 public parks projects throughout Ohio’s 88 counties.

Area projects in the latest round of grants include: 

  • Charles Mill Lake Park – The park will receive $53,749 to remove and replace the existing playground 
  • Seltzer Park – This park will receive $38,483 for the purpose of rehabilitating two tennis courts 

“I am pleased to see this funding being allocated to Richland County which will help to build up our parks benefiting so many in our communities,” said John.
