Update: Power Back On In Richland County, Outage Affected 8,200 Customers

(2 pm) Power is back on locally, according to Ohio Edison.

"All customers were restored by 1:30 p.m. The outage was caused by an equipment issue on a transmission line in the area. Our crews were able to switch impacted customers over to a backup power line while they investigate and address the cause of the outage on their primary line."

Ohio Edison is reporting that 8,290 customers are without power in Richland County. Power is expected to be restored by around 3:30 pm today ( Thursday), according to First Energy. Nearly 5,000 customers are without power in Mansfield, which a caller reported an outage as far as the airport area. Some parts of Madison Township were without power too. No word on the cause of the outage.
