Mansfield Man Taken By Life Flight To Akron After Early Morning Crash

Hanover Township – Troopers are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on State Route 3 near County Road 3275 this morning ( Wednesday) at approximately 5:07 A.M.

A 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700, operated by Jim R. Hawk, 53 of Mansfield, Ohio, was northbound on SR 3.The motorcycle went off of the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail before overturning and ejecting the driver.

Mr Hawk sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was life-flighted via helicopter to Akron General Hospital. Mr Hawk was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Alcohol & Drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the crash scene by the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Loudonville Police Department, and Loudonville Fire & EMS.

The crash is still under investigation
