Mansfield Women Charged After Leaving Dog Outside During Cold Temperatures

A Mansfield Woman has been charged with animal cruelty, after she left a dog outside overnight at the Richland County Dog Shelter.

According to RichlandSource.com, the 25 year old woman received a summons to appear in court on February 11th for the first degree misdemeanor. Video surveillance showed the woman leave the 4 month old lab inside the kennel after hours with no food or water until the next morning. Temperatures that night were around 18 degrees. The woman admitted she made a mistake and said she is scared of dogs and could not take care of the animal.
