Former Richland County Jail worker sentenced to 3 years in prison

A former Richland County jail worker was sentenced to three years in prison Friday after being convicted of illegal conveyance of drugs, aggravated trafficking drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, according to a press release from Richland County Sheriff Steve Sheldon. According to Richland Source, Sheldon said his staff received information that Grace Markley of Mansfield, a former contracted kitchen worker at the Richland County Jail, was going to attempt to convey drugs into the Richland County Jail. Upon Markley’s entry into the Richland County Jail a search was conducted and she was found to be in possession of methamphetamines.
