Ontario is planning to build its wastewater treatment plant on Nussbaum Parkway at the west end of the industrial park.
RichlandSource.com reports, City Council this week passed a resolution to now apply for funding of the project through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The total cost of construction is between $36 and $38 million.
Data shows Ontario, which uses Mansfield's wastewater treatment plant, could save between $300,000 and $800,000 with its own plant.
