2nd Mansfield Prison Having COVID-19 Outbreak, 25 Inmates At MANCI Positive

A 2nd prison in Mansfield is having a COVID-19 outbreak.

RichlandSource.com reports, The Mansfield Correctional Institution is reporting 25 inmates and two staff members have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Last Friday, the report showed zero positive test among inmates.

This comes after the Richland Correctional Institution reported an outbreak two weeks ago, where now 79 inmates have tested positive, along with more than 60 staff members.

There is growing concern, Richland County could move into the Purple, Level 4 on the Ohio Public Health Advisory Map on Thursday, which could see a version of a stay at home order issued.

Thursday at 2 pm is when the state will update the state public health advisory map.
