Black/Brown Coalition, City of Mansfield to sign Code of Conduct Sept. 28

A new Code of Conduct guiding the relationship between local residents and the Mansfield Police Department will be signed on Monday, Sept. 28 in a noon ceremony in Central Park.

Wayne McDowell, who founded the Black/Brown Coalition of Mansfield, announced the ceremony on Monday. The signing will take place at the park's gazebo.

The two organizations announced in late July they had agreed on the five-page code, which sets forth standards of behavior that residents and officers should both meet when interacting with one another.

The two sides allowed for a period of public comment on the code before planning the signing event.
