Rare Rookie LeBron James Basketball Card Shatters Record At Auction

An extremely rare rookie card of basketball star LeBron James is now the most expensive card ever sold in modern times. The card printed during James' first season with the Cavaliers sold over the weekend for one-point-eight-million-dollars, beating the previous record of 923-thousand dollars for a Mike Trout card. The James card is one of only 23 that were printed from Upper Deck's 2003-2004 Exquisite Collection, is signed by James, and includes a piece of one of his jerseys. Born in Akron, James is only the second-ever to be drafted number one out of high school and has won three NBA titles, two gold medals, and made 16 All-Star teams.
