Mansfield Man Arrested For Drugs And Having A Weapon

Thursday, Mansfield Police Officers along with the Major Crimes Unit and METRICH made contact with Lamar Howell at 416 Sherman Pl. in reference to a weapon offense investigation. Howell, who is on Parole was found to be in possession of a handgun and was arrested for Having Weapons under Disability. Howell was also found to be in possession of approximately 122 grams of suspected Methamphetamine and placed in the back of a police cruiser where he tried to discard of more suspected drugs. The unknown powdery substance discharged into the air, causing exposure to an MPD Officer. Howell was also in possession of MDMA, Heroin, and Marijuana. The Officer was transported to Ohio Health ER for treatment and released. Howell is currently at the Richland County Jail.
