At approximately 8:16PM Monday evening, the Mansfield Division of Police responded to the area of Sturges Avenue and Ohio Street in reference to a "shots fired" call involving several subjects shooting at each other. Upon officer’s arrival, evidence of a shooting was present and bullet casings were located at the scene. Witnesses in the area advised that some of the participants of the shooting fled into a residence at 247 Sturges Avenue. Several attempts were made in an effort to make contact with anyone in the residence with negative results. Due to the nature of the call and the possibility that someone maybe injured inside, the Allied Special Operations Response Team (ASORT) made entry into the residence in an effort to locate anyone who may have been wounded during the exchange of gunfire. The residence was cleared and no one was found inside. Officers remain on scene and are processing evidence at this time.It is early into the investigation and no suspects have been identified.
