Ashland Highway Patrol Stop Finds Large Amount of Cash

The Ashland Highway Patrol stopped a car on I-71 Tuesday night near US 250 for a window tint violation.

The officer detected the odor of marijuana and after a probable cause search found a small amount of marijuana, but also a large amount of cash (around $50,000) in a lunch box on the passenger the floor board.A controlled sniff of the money by a K9 resulted in a positive indication for odor of narcotics.

The driver was from Xenia and the passenger from Miamisburg. The investigation into the incident continues.
