Up to 80 Vehicles Involved in I-71 Accident Tuesday

Snowy conditions were the result of a major back up in traffic on 1-71 Tuesday in Morrow and Richland Counties, as multiple crashes took place near Route 95 exit for Mt. Gilead and Route 97 exit for Lexington and Bellville. First reports said around 25 cars were involved in the back up, with another dispatcher hearing it may be closer to 40 vehicles. By late Wednesday morning the count was better than 80 vehicles involved in the pile up. The accidents’ took place around 4 pm and it was several hours before it started to move. No serious injuries were reported.
