Richland County Residents Receive $142,000 from Ohio Victims of Crime Fund

Richland County Prosecutor Gary Bishop has announced that residents of Richland County have received $142,000 from the Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation Program.

The victims of crime fund, helps those with out of pocket expenses caused when people are physically injured, emotionally harmed or killed by violent criminal acts. Losses that can be covered by the Fund are: Medical related expenses, Counseling, lost wages, Evidence replacement and Funeral expenses.

Bishop says “We will try to do everything we can to make victims whole again.”  He said, “It shouldn’t cost you money to assert your rights as a victim of crime.” If someone feels they have been a victim of crime, contact the Richland County Prosecutor Office at 774-5676.
