Shelby City Council Members to get Salary Increase in 2018

Shelby City Council Monday night passed an Ordinance that will increase the salaries of City Council members beginning in January of 2018.  Mayor Steve Schag told WMAN News that the vote passed by a margin of 3 votes to 2. Councilmen Nathan Martin told WMAN that this will increase their hourly wage from $6 to $12. The City Council salaries will increase from $3,772 to $7,415. Mayor Steve Schag also gave the state of the city address for 2017 and said he was able to report that Shelby is healthy and stable heading into 2017.
